97: Barrel sample (17/20): Similar to a Chardonnay bouquet; toasty notes, doesn't seem very sweet on the nose. Marmalade-like, fat and rather dry on the palate, but shows a lot of character on the finish. 99: Full-bodied, packed with vanilla; so creamy and delicate that it can already be savoured (17/20). 04: Medium yellow colour; bright. Open, quite intense bouquet; delicate notes of botrytis, pepper, kumquats, light apricots. Soft palate with lots of candied orange peel, rich extract; shows an astonishing concentration and again a racy pepper note in the finish. (17/20). 16: After 20 years, it has found its maturity. A very nice 1996. |
