Bright garnet red with a bluish tinge. Very spicy, profound Cabernet bouquet, black pepper, dark precious wood, elderberries, blackberries and Pointe de la Pauillac, opens slowly and shows a discreetly cool Pauillac note in the background. The palate is surprisingly accessible, the tannins seem rounded and convey a certain initial charm, only in the finish do the Latour tannins take hold and demand more. It is not yet entirely clear where this Latour is going. The level is quite high and Latour is actually always a solid insurance policy for the day after tomorrow. Rounded up - from earlier youthful experiences with this winery. (18/20). 14: Playing cards: Soft and elegant. Certainly has further (medium!) potential, but it doesn't hurt to uncork it now.
Cannavan:
Dark purple with pink rim. Intense. Nose closed. Very elegant palate of cassis and blackcurrant. Very smooth. Good complexity. Not a blockbuster but beautifully made. Needs another 10 years. One of the best 1998`s I`ve tasted.When to drink: 2014 to 2040

Leuchtendes Rubin-Violett; satter Ansatz und Verlauf, viel Frucht, leicht mineralische Noten, fleischige Cassisfrucht; entfaltet sich am Gaumen mächtig und dicht, satte Tanninstruktur.
