Drinking maturity ( - 2028)
Valuation 19/20
Still very dark and only lightening at the edges, showing fine, initial maturity tones. The nose is pure cedar, then lots of Dominican tobacco, malt, black bread crust, mocha, pumpernickel. Juicy on the palate, very fine, I have rarely experienced so many finesse in a 1996 Bordeaux, sensational balance and a black berry, smoky length, first maturity for enjoyment. A really great Cos, a great Impériale.
