Drinking maturity (2016 - 2035)
Valuation 18/20
Rich purple-garnet colour, dense in the centre, purple shimmer on the outside. Elegant, finely expansive bouquet, ripe blackberries and black, cooked plums, but only showing a subtle sweetness. Noble, sublime on the palate with lots of velour-like tannins, blackcurrant in the finish. One of the best Brane-Cantenac vintages.
Falstaff: 92/100
Dark ruby colour, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Light herbal spice, tobacco nuances, black berries and dark cherries, fresh orange zest. Juicy, fine berry fruit, ripe, silky tannins, good freshness, fine lemony-salty touch on the finish, elegant and persistent, a great food companion with further ageing potential. Already drinkable, but better to wait.
