Valuation 20/20
At the primeur tasting at Latour: Périgourd truffles in masses, tobacco, crotinhene, showing a dry, appealing sweetness. Really fleshy on the palate, the tannins are only halfway there. Has a great future ahead of it as a not particularly fine, but nevertheless classic Latour. (19/20). 15: Rich, dark garnet, dense centre, ruby rim. Restrained bouquet, yet its depth and size are noticeable. The Cabernet Sauvignon is almost exclusively in the black berry range. Pumpernickel bread, black olives, currants and smoky notes on the palate. In the second attack after about 10 minutes; herbal tones, mint and cassis. Powerful, ponderous and (still) introverted on the palate. In a class of its own, the finish is moving. For me it is clearly on the sheer 20 mark. (19/20). 17: Dark wine red colour, subtly matt. Beautifully green-spicy Cabernet shimmer at the beginning, very intense and profound at the beginning. Second, beguiling nose; black chocolate, coconut, dark chocolates. The nose is almost schizophrenic; reserved and sexy at the same time. The tannins are in keeping with the vintage and require patience. Decant for a long time! (19/20).

Parker: 95/100

Falstaff: 93/100

Dark ruby-garnet colour, black core, delicately undercoated, subtle edge brightening. Ripe plum fruit underlaid with fine chocolate notes, a hint of violets, candied orange zest, multi-faceted bouquet. Juicy, extract-sweet, elegant, well-ripened tannins, lingers very well, delicate honey touch in the finish, chocolaty aftertaste, a versatile food companion.
