88.8 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10.7 % Merlot. 0.5 % Petit Verdot.
Very dark violet-grand with black reflections in the centre. Restrained, still defensive bouquet, lots of black tea, liquorice, small, ripe black berries, dark malt and black precious woods, appears noble but somehow only in the starting blocks. Highly refined on the palate, perfectly structured, all the flavours in the black range, again precious woods, Darjeeling, tea notes, extremely concentrated and yet fine. Somehow representing an extra class in Pauillac and currently the absolute leader in the northern Médoc. A dramatic Lafite that will make history for its own estate. (20/20). The last wine at midnight at the Lafite tasting in Klosters. Bright garnet colour with beautiful, rich depth, still showing purple reflections on the rim. A royal bouquet, delicate, multi-layered, showing highly ripe, perfumed Cabernet in the form of cassis notes, blueberries and blossoming blackberry bushes, with a hint of vanillin and caramel filling the nose. The palate is a delicate temptation from the very first moment, with truly silky tannins and a finesse, bundled finish. Rarely have I drunk such an unpredictable, big sip of a Bordeaux that is far too young. A moving youthful sin experience!
