Rich garnet-ruby colour. Crazy mulberry bouquet, extremely multi-layered with fine spices, base wood, bread crust and a hint of coconut. So fine and delicate on the palate that it almost seems a little light at first, dances flatteringly and sweetly over the tongue and ends with an almost perfumed blackcurrant touch. Still has room for improvement. (18/20). 08: Rich garnet ruby, dense in the centre. Fantastic bouquet, fine malty sweetness, shows a certain Sangiovese affinity, ripe plums, light woods and cedar notes. The palate has a concentrated texture, a great plummy sweetness in the centre and ends with a hint of coconut, pralines and blackcurrant. Has improved since the Priory tasting and is one of the great vintages after the 1998. |
