One sip of this wine makes it clear why it has become so famous, a cut above the others, but then it could not be otherwise coming from Silvia Imparato, with her sunny, sweet smile, deep love for her work and strong determination. This 2012 is still a child but it is not at all rough nor unkempt to the palate. Even when young this wine is pleasing and convincing with its velvety softness that caresses the palate.

South of Naples in Campania, a winery dominates the scene and is still considered something of an insider tip here. It got off to a flying start in the early 1990s, receiving glowing praise from the trade press, and the subsequent demand was almost unmanageable. The fact that the Gambero Rosso awarded vintage after vintage with 3 glasses finally turned Montevetrano into a cult wine. The clever and sensitive Silvia Imparato, a quality fanatic, is responsible for this in co-operation with star oenologist Riccardo Cotarella. Montevetrano offers top-class elegance and finesse as well as a precise and distinctive flavour.
