| Medium garnet colour with a ruby shimmer on the rim. Wonderfully chocolaty bouquet, beautifully expansive and showing a lovely sweetness, very fine herbal traces. There are no more nasal questions, only answers. Juicy, velvety on the palate, showing a beautiful residual fruit sweetness in the form of wild strawberries and red plums, the finish is concentrated and long. For me, this was the best and unquestionably the most beautiful Bordeaux of the series! My best rating so far: 19/20! 17: Just after decanting: Earthy, spicy nose, fine peaty notes, leather, tobacco. Black, wet truffles. Fleshy on the palate, showing good muscle and also a slightly metallic acidity, ripe but not overripe and gaining weight with air. But I had already noted that earlier. There are many classics in this time frame - and this is certainly one of them. (18/20). | |
