Lightening, brownish wine red colour. The bouquet is woody-sweet, showing sandalwood, cooking chocolate and a slightly greenish Cabernet note, which fits the whole and this vintage in particular. I poured the whole ration into my mouth at once. I knew that it wouldn't be particularly concentrated. When you have a certain amount of this wine on the palate, it still delivers quite a lot today. What is the secret of this great Mouton? The harvest was brought in on rainy days, but before that the vineyards were dried with the rotor blades of a helicopter. So they tried to reconcentrate the grapes, which were actually quite ripe. It's been great fun for a long time and - amazingly enough - it still is. (17/20). |
