Valuation | 17/20 |
Medium, mature wine red colour. Wonderfully sweet, delicately raisiny bouquet, light malt, finest herbal tones, almost perfumed Cabernet, multi-layered and still pleasantly full-bodied. Firm, fleshy on the palate, the grainy tannins roll somewhat bumpily over the tongue. Summarised: Fine nose - coarse palate. Quite a great Lafite and above all a very great 1976. For today and for another 10 years. This was a super bottle at this OSH Lafite Best Bottle. (18/20). |
