Description
"The Durand" - the ultimate, patented corkscrew for older wines
This ingenious corkscrew was developed by Mark Taylor, a wine lover in the USA, especially for the older and matured treasures of the wine cellar. Brittle, crumbly corks, which often get stuck halfway or break off and fall into the bottle when using conventional devices, don't stand a chance with "The Durand". It combines the advantages of a simple waiter's corkscrew with a twist thread and those of a clasp corkscrew. The latter is designed to pull out brittle or saturated corks that would crumble with the spindle thread. However, this often worsens the situation and pushes the cork deeper into the neck of the bottle. This is different with "The Durand". Here, the brittle cork is first screwed to the thread. The two clasps are then pushed past the cork and pulled out in a twisting motion. In this way, even bottles that were thought to be almost lost can be saved.
