99: Intense yellow colour with light green reflections. Amazingly open, peppery bouquet; khaki, honeydew melon, verbena, molasses, vanilla as well as a hidden note of lazy grass that resonates. Full-bodied on the palate, fine sea salt flavour in the slightly bitter extract, medicinal notes, then a pleasant but not particularly well-balanced sweetness; pertinax, almond biscuits and, on the finish, planty notes that simply don't quite fit in with such an expensive Sauternes, peppery, almost spicy aftertaste. An expensive prestige wine from a difficult and therefore less appealing vintage. |
