Description

Gabriel

Drinking maturity drink ( - 2020)
Valuation 16/20
A kind of 79, but with a little more race; full-bodied, fat with apricot jelly on the finish. Two years later: it is now becoming increasingly refined, while retaining a youthful fruit and plenty of vanilla flavour. On the palate, the sweetness predominates and the balancing acidity is missing, which makes it somewhat unbalanced. Not a great Yquem - but a pleasant dessert wine - if only it weren't for the price! 98: Medium yellow colour with green reflections. Slender, sparse bouquet with floral notes, molasses and jam. Very thick on the palate; almost ponderous, lacking extract sweetness in the clumsy finish. A rather lethargic Yquem (15/20). 02: A magnum that was again plump, fat and rather clumsy. Inexperienced wine connoisseurs who see the Yquem label in front of them will bow down to this wine. But those who have already drunk many great Yquem wines will buy other vintages.
