| 05, barrel sample: Intense yellow colour, dense. Fantastic, light roasted bouquet, showing freshly cooked apricots, delicate vanilla, perfumed botrytis. Long, elegant body with a lot of melting in the fine extract, very good balance, showing an uncanny freshness in all fruit components, even a hint of citrus in the finish. A sensational Sauternes that has almost outgrown its vintage potential. 06: In autumn at the Château, shortly after bottling. A brilliantly fresh, straightforward Sauternes, elegant, mild and racy at the same time, superb balance. (19/20). 12: Lean at the moment, i.e. elegant, but without fascination. Simply tasty and almost too easy to drink. Will certainly bring more in a few years. | |
