Matt, matured red colour, orange rim. Earthy bouquet, slightly stalky, leather tones, fine camphor notes, mineral shimmer, dark malt. On the palate, crumbly tannins, subtle metallic contours. Artisanal and slightly dull, showing quite a lot of flesh, but with little charm, peat and malt on the finish. Unfortunately, the tannins are slowly becoming brittle in the finish. I've had much better bottles. This one 16/20, the very best 19/20. Unfortunately, we had a corked double magnum on New Year's Eve. That was particularly painful... 15: Drank without decanting. That was probably a mistake. It became increasingly more black-berried with air. Amazingly concentrated and persistent, which is not always the strength of a Picola. A very safe value! (19/20). 16: Very dark wine red colour. Ripe bouquet, the Cabernet is (still) slightly sweaty, then wild leather notes, black bread, it is ripe, but still gains nuances with air. Juicy, elegant, very long on the palate, again a great, very appealing aroma that demonstrates the typical Pauillac flavours. Lasting finish with great class.
