Valuation 19/20
Very dark colour. Chopped plum pulp, dark malt, blackcurrant, cool and very aromatic at the start and then permanently increasing, showing considerable depth which will certainly reveal truffles in a few years. Juicy on the palate, very long and beautifully aromatic, with a concentrated finish, again very blue to black berry flavours. A really great Palmer that will continue to give pleasure for decades to come, with cassis and liquorice in lavish form on the finish. (19/20). 14: Lucien poured two bottles into a carafe. So - with 6 people - everyone got a good two. The Palmer 1985 moves very slowly, is spicy and fresh and has - for a Palmer - a great Cabernet character. Long and aromatic. (19/20). 15: A bottle with Jimmy Sichel at the Lion d'Or in Arcins. Powerful, beautifully round and fine.
