Drinking maturity drinking (2009 - 2025)
Valuation 17/20
Wonderfully fragrant cherry bouquet with a hint of refreshing lemon balm, candied fruit, fruit tea, cassis, almond and marzipan notes. Slender on the palate, with muscle, but relatively little flesh, floral finish with pithy tannins, which are also a little too prominent, conciliatory mocha in the finish. Overall, plenty of race and power, but a little too little fat. Once again a rather disappointing Cos, which will certainly not be a gift to its wine friends in terms of price. Similar to the 94, which showed similar parallels at the primeur tasting. 04: Significantly lighter in colour than the 2002 and 2003 vintages; brighter ruby with a relatively large watery rim. Fragrant, peppery bouquet, redcurrants, coffee notes and cedar wood behind it, wonderful aromas reminiscent of exotic spices (especially cloves), but remains rather slender in its approach. Fine, elegant palate, the tannins appear polished and already make the wine delicate and fine, a slightly unripe peel note remains on the finish, medium finish. (17/20). 06: Medium-dark ruby-purple colour. Intense bouquet rising to the nose, wild cherries, coffee, cloves, slightly greenish cabernet touch, actually quite slender, but quite profound. Aromatic palate, medium stature, black peppercorns, plum skins, somewhat roughening due to its concentration, can perhaps still gain a point and will then go down in history as a rather classic, long-lived Cos. 08: Drunk for lunch at Cos. Already showing itself to be a seductive flatterer with a soft texture and plummy sweetness.
