Drinking maturity drinking (2012 - 2035)
Valuation 18/20
05: Rich, dense purple-ruby colour. Very fragrant bouquet, fully developed on fruit, mulberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants, with an expansive background. On the palate, the wine is very fine, delicate with a wonderful sweetness that emanates from the extract and the fine tannins, the fruit interplay lies between red and blue berries, only in the finish do you notice the race and length of this very delicate and currently rather medium-bodied Pomerol star. However, it should also be noted that no pressed wine was added to this barrel sample and the final result will certainly be somewhat more powerful. Current rating: 18/20. 05: Tasted in autumn. Medium-dense, relatively accessible in terms of fruit, showing a fine hint of herbs, lemon balm and cassis blossom in addition to the many, clearly red berries. Refreshing, supportive acidity on the palate, plum skin tone, with a relatively large amount of caramel from the barriques on the finish. Will it be able to maintain the rather high 18/20 when mature? (18/20). 15: Lightening medium wine red colour, not particularly deep. Red plum bouquet (this tastes exactly like the old plum tree that used to exist before Pétrus), then light coffee, grenadine, bast and liquorice, rose pepper, ginger and red roses. Dense on the palate, great, sweet extract, stays more in the red berry area and conveys a great sweetness without showing any compote-like hints, with a fascinating perfume on the inside, quite pithy on the finish and still far too young. Not a young wine at the moment and requires a mixture of understanding and tolerance from the viewer. Even if the fascination is clearly visible. But it also shows that the Cabernet Franc in 2004 was above the Merlot possibilities. Two hours of decanting.
