Still young and not at all the gastronomic variety one would expect from this vintage. Red plum compote, a little cinnamon, with a hint of minerality in the sweet, bomb-like nose. On the palate, the wine is over-concentrated with sinewy tannins. But it is impressive all the same. And it was probably worth the intensive effort that went into its vinification. (17/20). 12: Dense purple colour, quite rich in the middle. Ordinary bouquet, exotic woods, freshly roasted coffee, but the mocha also comes from the dark barrique roast notes. Amarena cherries on the palate, quality drops, the tannins appear almost somewhat brittle due to the massive concentration. Striking, but somehow "too much" and unbelievable for the vintage. Less would be more. Somehow smells more like Margrez than Pape. (17/20). 12: A palatable Pessac juice with a lot of caramel in it. That doesn't make it worse - but not better either and, above all, too atypical. (17/20). 13: Great fun. The bottle was quick - a good sign. (17/20). 14: Started with a hint of Amarone and nuances of volatile acidity, a hint of sultanas, very dark roasted flavours. Somehow more illusion than reality on the nose. On the palate, brought to a level with a lot of cellar technique that was not present in this otherwise light vintage. Nevertheless, somehow a winner. It had quite a few fans at the table. (17/20). 16: Vinified far too forcibly for the vintage. The whole thing is slowly taking its revenge.
