Drinking maturity drink ( - 2026)
Valuation 18/20
Decanted for a good four hours. Clearly brightening wine red colour, delicate brick-red rim. Cool, stocky Cabernet bouquet, discreetly vegetal, plums, also a little woody and then developing a finely spiced cedar touch. A somewhat reserved approach, if you want to describe the nose in any way. The palate tends to be medium-bodied, well-supported acidity, not particularly fine, but compensating for this flaw with quite a lot of power. Not a really great Lynch-Bages. But not yet at its peak either. From my point of view, it is quite similar to his own 1988. And it's pretty big today. So don't bury your head in the wine sand (yet) and wait patiently. P.S. I tasted it an hour after uncorking. And then in the evening I didn't taste it, I savoured it. It went down very well at the table. These magnums, decanted for a very long time; 18/20.
