Drinking maturity drink ( - 2045)
Valuation 19/20
Extremely dark and still extremely young. Intense, very complex bouquet, shows great Cabernet spice and summer truffles. Still quite fresh in the second attack. On the palate, finesse and power mingle, finely flexing muscles, the wine really vibrates and shows Barto's limits towards the top. That was a fantastic sip. The whole thing goes in the direction of Saint-Julien classics and it seems somehow light. And in this case, that is absolutely no reproach. (19/20). 18: Incredibly dark, almost scarlet red in the centre, full to the brim and showing practically no signs of ageing. The nose is incredibly multi-faceted, from black cherries to cassis to fine vanilla notes and bread crust to wonderfully herbal hints. Still young on the palate, with a ripened astringency and a finely fleshed tongue, the finish is concentrated, long, aromatic and clearly indicative of a great Barton. In terms of vinification, this was the most precise and at the same time the most perfect wine of our wonderful evening. An hour of decanting would do it and its potential justice. (19/20).
