Valuation 19/20
55 % Merlot, 42 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 3 % Cabernet Franc. Medium-dark garnet ruby colour. Noble, restrained bouquet, earthy notes, truffles, tobacco, cedar wood and dried prunes, appears somewhat cool on the nose and thus also shows floral aromas. The palate shows a fascinating black berry note, dried alpine blueberries, cassis, smoke and again a lot of tobacco, a powerful wine in terms of astringency with soft bourgeois contours, which is rather typical for Mission, the structure shows soft grainy-sandy notes. A tomboyish wine with a lot of character. Reminiscent of a blend of 1985 (length and flavour) and 1994 (potential and structure). (18/20). 11: Dark, dense wine red colour with almost black reflections. Leather tones, currants, tar, liquorice, smoke, refreshing mint tones, a hint of eucalyptus and dried tree nut shells that lend a certain ratafia nuance to the bouquet. Still clearly astringent on the palate, grainy texture, bourgeois elemental force. A big bolt of character with rough edges.
