Description
Falstaff: 89/100
Deep carmine-garnet colour, broad rim brightening. Delicately leafy blackberry notes, smoky, some cedar wood, delicate orange zest, vegetal undertone, typical Cabernet Franc. Slightly slimmer, but not too broad, a hint of dark nougat, delicate nutty touch on the finish, should be drunk soon.

16: A normal bottle at Sempacherhof. The wine is still very well preserved and only moves at a leisurely pace. It doesn't have the sweetness and flavour of great vintages, but this 1993 (a very difficult vintage...) shows that terroir is crucial in such cases. (17/20). 17: Now that the fruit is slowly subtracting itself, the somewhat unripe, notched tannins become noticeable on the tongue. |
